Arts in Leicestershire magazine's editorial

Artsin has covered a number of topics in its editorial column.

In April 2010 it urged voters to look at what the parties were saying about the arts and to ask questions about the importance of the arts for fostering social cohesion.

In October 2009, Artsin called for the development of a major new live music festival for Leicestershire.

In October 2008, an editorial claimed that Leicester had become the "indie capital of the UK".

It is because Artsin is in dependant, that it can be critical of establishment interests. In August 2009, an Artsin editorial criticised Leicester City Council for failing to support its local live music scene and went to suggest that all Council run arts establishments should be floated away from the local authority and be made into social enterprises.
